Organic Green Products
The most rewarding part of living an organic green lifestyle is knowing that with every purchase you are making a difference in both the global environment and the local economy. Organic products are easily located in almost every market and are growing in popularity which greatly increases the options for purchasing totally organic products. There are many different types of organic products from food to building products and clothing for your everyday life.
The most abundantly available organic products are found in many local food supplies. Grown by farmers who use organic compost, and no toxic chemicals. Being able to purchase fruits and vegetables that are grown locally is a great way to lessen your carbon footprint. It also helps to ensure the survival of your local farmers by purchasing local produce. There are even some grocery chains that are completely dedicated to providing their customers with totally organic products.
Another type of readily available green product are the non-toxic cleaning products. The largest use of chemicals in everyday households is through the daily use of cleaning products. These chemical based cleaning products are flammable and often poisonous to both humans and pets. For anyone with pets or small children, it becomes imperative that you use cleaning agents that not only work well, but also create a safe environment for your family. This is especially true if you have someone in the house who is apt to eat off the floor or countertop surfaces or even just put everything possible into their mouths. Children roam everywhere once they first learn to crawl so there is no surface that is safe from their explorations. If you clean using potentially harmful chemical based products, you run the risk of exposing your child to all of those chemicals through transfer from the surface to their eyes, nose, or mouth.
Using green, natural products to clean, helps you to make your home a safer environment for both you and your family. Plant and essential oil based green cleaners are often just as effective as their chemical counterparts, though they are much safer for you and the environment.
Eco friendly cleaners are widely available and they are often more cost effective for consumers over a long period of time. Because the initial cost of a plant based cleaner is much the same as a chemical cleaner though they are able to be replenished through lower cost means as the refills are available in a powder or gel form in smaller, more eco-friendly packaging. The refill packet needs to simply be added to water in the original container in order to create the same product without tossing all of those plastic bottles into a landfill. This lessens the impact on the environment, creates more cleanser at a lower cost to consumers, and leaves more vacant space in landfills allowing you to successfully maintain your green lifestyle.
